Requirements

• Registered and legally incorporated aviation brokerage or operator entity

• Valid operational licenses and regulatory registrations (where applicable)

• Basic compliance documentation, including company registration, ownership records, and operational policies

• Minimum of one certified broker or team member enrolled in IABI-recognized training

• Agreement to participate in annual certification review and maintain operational compliance standards

• Successful completion of an independent legal documentation review

ADVANCED CERTIFIED — REQUIREMENTS

For established aviation companies demonstrating structured governance maturity and operational depth.

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years operational history in aircraft brokerage, charter, or aviation-related services

• Documented internal compliance procedures, including AML/KYC practices

• Multiple certified brokers or a structured internal broker training program

• Corporate governance documentation, such as internal operational policies, compliance controls, and risk-management procedures

• Successful independent legal documentation review and Certification Committee approval

GLOBAL CERTIFIED — REQUIREMENTS

For multi-jurisdictional aviation brokerages and operators operating at scale internationally.

Requirements

• Demonstrated international operational footprint or multi-country client base

• Advanced compliance governance framework aligned with cross-border regulatory practices

• Dedicated compliance officer or internal compliance function

• Documented transaction verification, due diligence, and risk-management systems

• Successful legal review clearance, Certification Committee approval, and institutional certification authorization

Step 1 — Application Submission
Applicants submit the certification application along with required corporate documentation, including company registration records, ownership information, operational licenses (if applicable), and baseline compliance materials. Upon submission, the application is formally registered and enters the certification review workflow.

Step 2 — Independent Legal Review
All submitted documentation undergoes an independent legal and compliance review conducted. The legal partner verifies documentation validity, ownership transparency, regulatory compliance indicators, and operational legitimacy. Upon completion, a Compliance Review Memorandum is issued confirming the legal assessment outcome.

Step 3 — Certification Committee Review
Following legal clearance, the application is presented to the IABI Certification Committee for institutional evaluation. The committee reviews operational governance, leadership structure, and organizational credibility, and conducts a formal certification vote to determine eligibility and appropriate certification level.

Step 4 — Certification Grant
Once approved, the certification agreement is executed, the organization is officially issued its certification designation, added to the official certified directory, and granted access to certification privileges, training resources, and ongoing institutional programs.

IABI serves as the institutional accreditation authority, establishing certification standards, evaluating applicant organizations, and maintaining ongoing oversight of accredited entities. All certification determinations are governed through a structured multi-layer review process designed to ensure credibility, transparency, and global industry acceptance.

Independent Legal Compliance Review
serving as the Official Legal Compliance Partner, conducts an independent third-party documentation review for each applicant organization. This review includes, but is not limited to:

• Corporate registration and ownership structure verification

• Compliance framework adequacy and internal governance policies

• AML / KYC procedural structure and operational controls

• Contractual documentation review (brokerage agreements, charter agreements, operator compliance materials)

• Regulatory exposure and jurisdictional licensing validation

• Operational risk management procedures and insurance compliance

• Documentation authenticity and legal sufficiency assessment

Upon completion, issues a Compliance Review Memorandum, confirming whether submitted materials meet institutional certification standards.

Certification Authority Review
Following the legal review, the IABI Certification Committee evaluates the legal memorandum together with organizational leadership credentials, operational track record, and industry standing. Certification determinations are issued only after formal committee approval.

Ongoing Oversight
Certified organizations remain subject to periodic compliance monitoring, documentation updates, and annual certification renewal review to maintain active accredited status.

The governance structure is supported by an international aviation legal partner, an industry advisory committee, and the IABI institutional certification authority to ensure global credibility and consistent enforcement of accreditation standards.
